So God Made a Farmer

I can't get it out of my head. I didn't even WATCH the Superbowl, and I keep watching the YouTube video of Dodge's tribute to the American farmer, with the voice of Paul Harvey.

"And on the 8th day, God looked down on his planned paradise and said, 'I need a caretaker.' So God made a farmer."

So God Made a Farmer

The imagery is powerful and not to mention beautiful.

Screen shot 2013-02-04 at 2.55.17 PMLike everyone else who has been commenting on this video in the agriculture industry - this takes me back. Back to my childhood, where my dad woke up to Paul Harvey talking and we ate a homemade lunch everyday to Paul Harvey sharing the rest of the story. I must tell you, when my Facebook was exploding with posts about this video last night, all I could do was text my brother and say "That's pretty much us, huh?"

Our industry has rallied about this commercial. Andy Vance posted about it this morning: "It was refreshing to see not only the recognition from Dodge, but also to see the overwhelmingly positive reaction to a spot that wasn’t clever, funny or overwrought. As an old radio guy and a farm boy at heart, I miss Paul Harvey, and I tip my hat to Dodge for tipping their hat to the American farmer."

While I still am a farm girl - I too tip my hat to Dodge and to the American farmer. What were your thoughts as you watched the commercial?
